Luciai Studio · an IDE with a coding agent

The AI IDE that answers to you.

Lucicoder plans, edits, runs and debugs your project inside a full IDE — on local models through Ollama, the Claude or ChatGPT subscription you already have, or any provider you choose. You approve what matters, and every turn can be undone with one click.

Free · no account to start · no credit card · works offline

How a turn works

You decide how far it goes on its own.

Four approval modes, switchable at any moment. Whatever the mode, you see a red-and-green diff before an edit lands, and Lucicoder keeps a checkpoint of every turn.

Chat

Answers and explains. Touches nothing.

Ask

Asks before every tool it wants to use.

Agent

Reads and searches freely; asks before it edits a file or runs a command.

Auto

Works on its own — still inside the command denylist, still with a checkpoint.

Diff first

Every edit it proposes is shown red-and-green before it is written. In Preview mode, nothing is written until you apply it.

One-click undo

Each turn is a checkpoint. One click reverts everything that turn changed, across every file.

Hard limits

A command denylist no prompt can talk its way around, and a per-project list of commands you always allow.

Your models

Run it on your laptop, your subscription, or your keys.

Lucicoder speaks each provider's own tool-calling format and falls back to a universal grammar, so even small local models do real work.

Local, through Ollama

qwen2.5-coder, llama, deepseek-coder and friends — the agent and the ghost-text completions run on your machine. Nothing leaves it.

ollama pull qwen2.5-coder:7b

The subscription you have

Switch the engine to Claude Code or Codex and Lucicoder drives the official CLI you are signed in to. It warns you when a login would bill API credit instead of your plan.

Any provider, your keys

Model lists are fetched live from each provider, so new models appear the day they ship. Keys stay in your operating system's credential store.

Anthropic · OpenAI · Google Gemini · DeepSeek · Mistral · Groq · xAI · OpenRouter · DashScope · any OpenAI-compatible endpoint

The IDE around it

Not a chat box bolted onto an editor.

The editor core of VS Code, an IntelliJ-style menu of 156 working commands, and the tools you would otherwise keep in six other windows.

Visual debugger

Python, Node.js and TypeScript, Java and Kotlin, Go, C#, C and C++, Rust, Swift, PHP, Ruby, Flutter and Chrome/Edge pages: breakpoints with conditions and logpoints, watches, attach to a running process. Lucicoder can drive it too.

Language intelligence

Hover, completion, go to definition, live diagnostics, rename, extract and inline — with preview.

Git, GitHub and GitLab

Branches, history and conflicts; pull and merge requests, pipelines and Actions without the browser.

Security view

npm, pip, cargo and Go audits plus a secret scan of your sources, with one-click fixes.

Deploy

Vercel, Netlify, GitHub Pages — or containers to Cloud Run, Azure and App Runner. Every command shown before it runs.

Extensions

Themes, snippets and grammars from Open VSX, or install a VSIX file.

Live Share

Edit together in real time over your LAN, with named cursors and follow mode.

Database and HTTP

SQLite, PostgreSQL and MySQL client; a REST client without CORS trouble.

Ghost-text completions

Inline suggestions from a local fill-in-the-middle model. Tab to accept.

Local history

Every save and every agent edit kept as a version you can diff and restore.

Terminals and run configs

Real terminals, detected run and debug configurations, a testing view that runs your suite.

Extends like Claude Code

Bring the tools you already built.

Lucicoder uses the conventions the agent community settled on, so your skills, commands, plugins and MCP servers come with you.

MCP servers

Local and remote Model Context Protocol servers, in the same config format as Claude Code.

Skills, commands, plugins

SKILL.md skills, Markdown slash commands and plugin bundles in Claude Code’s layout — existing repositories install unchanged.

Subagents

Focused helpers with their own context, for the parts of a job that should not crowd the main one.

Plan mode and memory

A plan you approve before it starts; notes it keeps per project; sessions that survive restarts.

Context that manages itself

Long sessions compress on their own; live diagnostics ride along, so “fix the errors” just works.

Codebase search

Semantic search and “find similar code” to land in the right file first time.

What leaves your machine

A short list, in writing.

We would rather tell you exactly than promise “privacy” in general.

Your code
Only to the model you pick. With a local model, it never leaves your machine.
API keys and tokens
In your operating system’s credential store — never in a file, never sent to us.
Your license
A signed key, checked offline: no license server is needed to start the IDE.
Usage statistics
Anonymous counts of features used and errors hit — no code, file names, paths, emails or tokens. One switch turns them off.

Questions

Asked before you download.

Something else? Ask us — a person answers.

Is Luciai Studio really free?
Yes. Download it and start: the first month on your computer needs no account. Then create a free account and confirm your email address — your key with no time limit arrives right away, and Luciai Studio picks it up by itself. The whole IDE and the whole Lucicoder agent, and no card is asked for.
Do I need an account to download it?
No. Download, install and start — Luciai Studio needs to be online once, on its first start, and your free month begins. Before it ends, it asks you to create a free account (two minutes); after that it works with no time limit.
How can I support Luciai Studio?
Buy me a coffee — the button is on the pricing page. I will use this money to help poor and needy children in remote and poor areas of Pakistan get an education, because every child deserves an education. It is entirely up to you: Luciai Studio stays free either way.
Does my code leave my computer?
Only if you choose a cloud model, and then only to that provider. With a local model through Ollama, prompts and code stay on your machine. We never receive your code.
Which models can I use?
Local models through Ollama; your Claude or ChatGPT subscription through the official Claude Code and Codex command-line tools; or your own API key for Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Groq, xAI, OpenRouter, DashScope and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint.
Do I need to be online?
Not to code. The license is verified offline from its signature, and local models run without a connection. You need to be online to download, to receive your key and — naturally — to use a cloud model.
On how many computers can I use it?
Your key works on three devices at a time. You can see them in your account and remove one to make room for another.
What does the IDE report back?
Anonymous counts of which features are used and which errors happen, so we can fix what breaks. Never code, file names, paths, emails or tokens. You can switch it off in Settings, and the first start tells you about it.
I found a bug. Where do I tell you?
In the IDE: Help → Report a problem. Or on the support page. Signed-in customers can follow the conversation in their account.

Switch the lamp on.

Download it and start — the first month needs no account. Then a free account keeps it going with no time limit. No card.
